Below are all the Hopscasts links.  Clicking on the Episode title will reveal the Set list for that show.

Episode 36: Costume Party ’09 (The Unbroken Chain) - The 2009 covers show is my most ambitious episode yet. There is only one set with no set breaks at all.  The format is an unbroken chain of covers where Artist A covers Artist B. Then Artist B Covers Artist C. Artist C covers Artist D, and D cover E and so on and so on.  The episode ends with the last artist covering the first one to complete the chain! I just blew my own mind. Download show here

Episode 35: Vampires - This year's annual Halloween episode focuses on Vampires which are so hip these days. Download show here

Episode 33: Superbad! - Back in the day I loved to make CD mixes. One of my most successful was called "Funk Soul Hops". Well consider this Funk Soul Hops Volume II.  This episode features some funky tracks that will get your funk motor going.  Lots of blacksploitation, 70's soul and fabulous funk. It will make you want to grow an afro. Download show here

Episode 24: The Dark Side of the Woods - What will you find when you venture deep into the dark side of the woods? Will you find good, will you find evil?  Find out in this episode.  Think of it as Lord of the Rings meets Dark Side of the Moon. Download show here

Episode 23: Anti-Valentine's Day - Valentine’s Day sucks. We all know it – we just try and trick ourselves into making pretend that it is a sweet, romantic holiday. People who have a significant other end up wasting money on crap the television tells us is romantic. Single people despise the day because it tries to make them feel bad about being single. This episode rallies against the “holiday” with some great anti-Valentine’s Day songs. Download show here

Episode 22: Rejuvenation and Resurrection- These songs are intended to kick of 2008 on a positive note.  They bring the hope that a new day can bring rejuvenation, salvation and resurrection. It's upbeat...but not cheesy . Download show here

Episode 21: Top of the Hops '07- It is my duty to give you a best of 2007 list and that is what I have done. This episode plays tracks from my five favorite albums of the year as well as some other tunes. Download show here

Download show here

Episode 19: Costume Party '07 - For the second straight year the two part Halloween special concludes with a costume party! The Hops Costume Party is an entire show of cover songs.  I did my best to find interesting covers and I think I succeeded.  The songs range from Motown to grunge to current rock and the bands covering them are from a wide spectrum of music as well.  There really is something for everyone in this episode. Download show here

Episode 18: Black Magic - Double Double Toil and Trouble! This episode is intended to scare you (in a Harry Potter kind of way) through the use of Black Magic.  Old black magic, new black magic - either way you'll be cast under Hops' spell. The first in a two part Halloween series. Download show here

Episode 17: America, The Beautiful - Independence Day may have come and gone here in America, but that doesn’t mean we should forget what it means to be free. This show explores songs that touch upon the disillusionment and anger that some people, even some American people, feel towards the United States today and their place in it. I think the show will make some of you listen closely and make others cover their ears.  Download show here

Episode 16: Noah and The Flood - This is a show of Biblical proportions! Several seemingly random things made me decide to do a show about the story of Noah's Ark and The Great Flood.  Maybe the big guy upstairs was speaking through me? I guess you can call me the Prophet Hops from now on.  Don't worry Sunday School is not a prerequisite to listening to this Hopscast. The songs span a period of 63 years, so hopefully you will enjoy hearing them together. Download show here

Episode 15:  The Electric Kool-Aid Hops Test - This show will blow your mind! With the weather warming up where I live I wanted to play what some people might call "hippie music".  Now before you cringe the point of the show is that there more to this genre than the culture that surrounds it.  The show focuses on The Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd and Phish. Each set will play one of their songs and then more modern bands that are borrowing from them.  For those who love this music you'll enjoy hearing how it has evolved. For those that do not think you like "hippie music" I hope it makes you appreciate the genre more.   Download show here

Episode 14:  Crime and Punishment - Was this a good Hopscast? Fughetaboudit! Inspired by the last season of the Sopranos, Episode 14 is a journey from crime to punishment. It begins with some great Mafia inspired tunes, continues with music about getting caught and finally the consequences of crime. All themes dealt with on The Sopranos. Download show here

Episode 13:  Mystery Madness - Episode 13 is a fun one.  Each of the sets in the show is linked by a common theme.  However, instead of me telling you what that theme is, you'll have to guess.  Let's see how well you can do. Download show here

Episode 12:  Beside You In Time - Episode 12 features a special guest co-host, Mrs. Hops. It will explore music that leans more towards hard rock and grunge but with that Hops sensibility we all love. Mrs. Hops and I will explain how Nine Inch Nails, Tori Amos and The Beatles are all linked while playing some other great music along the way.  Download show here

Episode 11:  A New Hope - This episode explores the hope of  new year and a new day.  Topics include waking up and having things seem different, starting over and new perspectives.  It is more lyrically driven than other shows and often times a bit sad. Download show here

Episode 10:  Top of the Hops - What better way to end 2006 by reviewing my five favorite albums of the year. I also play some of my favorite songs and a few I just wished I had played before. Click on the link to read the set notes as well. Download show here

Episode 9:  Hollywood Hops - This episode salutes Hollywood by playing great songs from TV and movies as well as great songs about TV and movies.  Download show here

Episode 8:  Halloween Part 2 - Costume Party!- Part Two of the Halloween show is an all-out costume party.  That means we're going to hear from bands who are dressed up as other bands  Download show here

Episode 7:  Halloween Part 1 - Dire Wolves and Psycho Killers - In honor of Halloween I explore songs about wolves, ghosts and other creepy topics.  It's a fun show. This episode also marks the debut of my new microphone (much better sound)  Download show here

------------------ Episodes before Episode 7 do not feature my new microphone. They are still fantastic but have poorer audio quality on my vocals -------------------

Episode 6:  Working Class Heroes - Labor Day has come and gone, but hopefully this episode will stand as a tribute to the spirit of the holiday. It was inspired by the people I worked with in the chemical factory when I was in college as well as the music of Bruce Springsteen.  Download show here

Episode 5:  War and Peace - Due to the craziness in the world I decided to dedicate a Hopscast to songs that are political in nature. Specifically, anti-war protest songs.  Then I talk about the musical trend that followed the protest song movement of the 60's and 70's. Download show here

Episode 4: 4th of July Coming Down - This episode is meant to serve as a chill out soundtrack for the end of the night after your BBQ is over. Its more relaxing that anything. Enjoy it with friends. Download show here

Episode 3:  Hot Days and Holiday - Episode 3 features the first appearance of my amazing All You Need Is Hops theme song. More importantly, it talks about great rock music that is suited for the hot days and plays tribute to the many upcoming holidays.  Download show here

Episode 2: Real Rock, Real Country and the Real Deal - Episode 2 links the Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead and Johnny Cash.  I talk in depth about my love for Radiohead and their amazing development. Download show here

Episode 1: An Introduction - This episode doesn't have much of a theme except that it plays some of my favorite old and new music. It's a good introduction to the Hopscast. However, at this point I still hadn't perfected the audio and the parts where I'm speaking are much lower than the music.  Download show here
